Taraba State Governor, Darius Ishaku, has dismissed rumour suggesting one of his sons tested positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19).
In a statement on Wednesday by his special adviser on media and publicity, Bala Dan-Abu, Ishaku described the rumour as the work of mischief-makers.
“We wish to state categorically that no member of the first family in Taraba tested positive to COVID-19,” the statement read.
“In addition, none of the governor’s children is currently in Taraba State. The allegation on social media has no element of truth in it.
“It is clearly the handiwork of mischief makers who are out to discredit the efforts of the governor in the fight against coronavirus in the state.”
Taraba has no confirmed case of the coronavirus.
