First Lady Aisha Buhari has extended her wishes to Christians in commemoration of Easter.
Christians in some parts of the country like Lagos and the Federal Capital Territory will be celebrating Easter in lockdown.
Tweeting on Friday, Mrs Buhari urged Christians to pray for the country and for an end to the coronavirus pandemic.
“As we celebrate Good Friday and Easter, I am extending my best wishes to Nigerians especially our Christian brothers and sisters,” she said.
“It is significant to commemorate Christ’s death and resurrection as a reminder of his virtues of harmony and peaceful coexistence among humanity.
“Let us also remember to keep praying for God’s protection and an end to the #COVID19 pandemic. #GoodFriday #EasterWeekend.”
Several governors have relaxed restrictions to allow Christians celebrate Easter. Among them are Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia, Aminu Masari of Katsina among others.
