Lagos State Government has begun distributing food to young people in different parts of the state.
The chief press secretary to the governor, Gboyega Akosile, shared pictures on Twitter on Wednesday showing food being distributed to young people in the state.
“The Lagos State Resilience Office (LASRO) has started daily food supplies to minimum of 250 “good boys and girls” in parts of Lagos,” he wrote.
“The prepared meal is donated by Cactus restaurant as part of support in the #COVID19 lockdown. Lagos is a resilient city, we will win the battle.”
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu had on Tuesday launched the daily food supplies which forms part of his administration’s efforts to cushion the effect of the lockdown on residents.
“Today, I announced more measures to cushion the effect of the extended lockdown in Lagos,” he said on Twitter.
“We have begun the distribution of relief items to 250,000 vulnerable residents and in addition to this, 100,000 youths will be provided one meal per day across LCDAs via our food kitchens.”
