Former governor of Delta State, James Ibori, has shared a video to point attention to the state of affairs in the Niger Delta.
Ibori shared the video on Twitter on Wednesday showing tanks being destroyed in a marshy land.
He captioned it: “State of affairs in the Niger Delta….our own COVID-19.”
The Niger Delta has been besieged by land and water degradation caused by oil exploration in the region.
In 2017, President Muhammadu Buhari launched a $1 billion clean-up and restoration programme of the Ogoniland region in the Niger Delta.
