Entertainment promoter, Bolaji Basia, has revealed that he advised fuji maestro, K1 de Ultimate, not to respond to recent rumour that he had an affair with Olori Ajoke, youngest wife of Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi.
Bolaji, who has been friends with K1 for four decades from their days in Agarawu, Lagos Island, stated this in a Facebook post on Friday.
“Instead, I advised him on how he’s gonna keep his numerous fans all over the world entertained in this coronavirus lockdown period,” he said.
The man who once squatted the singer in Canada added: “Because he’s now Mayegun of Yorubaland, and as such, he’s not going to respond to every nonsense that is level against him without solid proof.”
Likening K1 to former Lagos State governor, Bola Tinubu, Bolaji said “I don’t know what negatives that has not been said about him (Tinubu).
“Of course, not that he doesn’t respond to all of them, it depends on who is saying it.
“Definitely not from established social media haters.”
Some fake news outlets on Wednesday reported that Olori Ajoke was chased out of the Oyo Palace for allegedly sleeping with K1.
Reacting in a statement signed by his publicist, Kunle Rasheed, on Thursday, the musician vehemently denied the allegation and threatened legal action against those behind it.
According to Bolaji Basia, “this is nothing but a very big distraction when most Nigerians are complaining of hunger from lockdown.”
Born Wasiu Anifowoshe on March 3, 1957, K1 was installed Mayegun of Yorubaland by Oba Adeyemi on January 13, 2020.
Speaking during the installation, the monarch cautioned the public on the use of social media.
He said some people spread misinformation about K1 in the media for reasons best known to them.
