Leicester City striker, Jamie Vardy, and Everton’s Romelu Lukaku have both joined an exclusive Barclays Premier League club with their goal-scoring feat this season.

Vardy, 26, equalled an EPL scoring record with the first goal – his 13th of the season – just before half-time as the foxes defeated Newcastle 3-0 at St James’ Park on Saturday.

The goal meant he joins Ruud van Nistelrooy as the only strikers to have scored in 10 consecutive fixtures, matching the figure set by the Dutchman in 2003 while at Manchester United.

Lukaku on the other hand scored his 50th top-flight goal in English football on Saturday afternoon against Aston Villa – a landmark feat in the EPL for the young forward.

Villa brought his half-century strike in England’s top tier, making him only the fifth player to bag 50 before the age of 23 – and the fourth youngest to do so too.

The Belgian’s birthday is not until May 13, but he joins Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo, Robbie Fowler and Michael Owen on the illustrious list.

And the Toffees No 10’s afternoon got better as he scored his 51st Premier League goal in the second half as his side ran-out 4-0 winners.
