Socialite and businessman, Terry Waya, has tested negative for the COVID-19 coronavirus, celebrity journalist, Dele Momodu, has disclosed.
Mr Momodu made the disclosure in an Instagram post on Sunday night.
The test was reportedly conducted in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
“Nigeria’s most popular socialite TERRY WAYA is upbeat and really grateful to God after receiving the result of his CORONA test,” Momodu wrote.
Benue born Waya is known for his close relationship with former Governors Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, James Ibori, and Lucky Igbinedion of Bayelsa, Delta and Edo states respectively among other politicians.
He was arrested by the police in the United Kingdom on November 23, 2005 on suspicion of money laundering.
After his UK legal ordeal, Waya was arrested in Nigeria by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in November 2008.
The EFCC released him in December 2008 without pressing any charges against him.
Waya no longer enjoys the kind of media attention he had when he was close to many of the men in power across Nigeria.
Momodu on Tuesday announced the death of Globe Motors chairman, Willy Anumudu, after the businessman reportedly tested negative for coronavirus.
