Senator Dino Melaye has claimed to have given sanitisers and face masks to his debtors.
The former Kogi lawmaker also said in a tweet on Monday that he regularly checks up on them to ensure they are safe.
“Gave out sanitizer and mask to all those owing me money. I check on them every day to make sure they are at home and keeping social distancing.
“I no fit shout biko b4 I hear stories that touch the soul. They are daily in my prayers,” he wrote partly in Pidgin English.
As of Sunday night, Nigeria has 1,273 confirmed cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Kogi currently has no confirmed case of COVID-19.
