Afrobeat star, Seun Kuti, has paid tribute to Uncle Tony, as he called Tony Allen, who played the drums for his father, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.
The 37-year-old shared the tribute on Instagram on Friday.
He wrote, ”Waking up to the most disastrous news. First Uncle Manu now Uncle Tony…Uncle Tony was an enigma. A pure artist and fierce competitor (in his own way)! I love and miss u baba. Rest in peace.”
Tony Allen was a legendary drummer who co-founded Afro-beat music with the late Afro-beat legend, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.
He died on Thursday at 79 in Paris, France.
