Rabiu Musa, the chief press secretary to former President Umaru Yar’adua, has died in Kano State aged 60.
His son, Musa Rabiu, told Premium Times that he died on Saturday at the National Orthopaedic Hospital after a brief illness.
Musa was also Yar’adua’s press secretary when the former president was governor of Katsina State.
His last position before his death was as head of communication at UNICEF’s Kano office.
Rabiu said his father died while awaiting a coronavirus test result.
“A week ago, he complained of sore throat and malaria, but after few days of medication, he became normal, also days later, he complained that he was finding it difficult to breathe,” he said.
