Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, says he has gone 49 days without a handshake.
The former two-term Lagos governor stated this on Tuesday night.
“49 days without a handshake. Social Distancing, the new normal. #When was your last handshake?” Mr Fashola asked his followers on Twitter.
Avoiding shaking of hands is part of safety guidelines recommended by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
As of Tuesday, Nigeria has 2,950 confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, following 148 new infections.
