A petrol tanker has hit the rail of River Niger Bridge in Onitsha, Anambra State, spilling its contents.
The tanker was attempting to make a U-turn on the bridge before the collision on Tuesday.
State Sector Public Education Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Pascal Anigbo, has confirmed the incident.
He said the fire service has been contacted while the FRSC officials were at the scene directing traffic.
“Fuel from the tanker is spilling furiously. The fire service has been contacted and they are on their way to the scene. FRSC operatives are currently controlling traffic,” Mr Anigbo said.
