The first flight carrying Nigerians evacuated from the United Kingdom over the coronavirus has arrived Lagos.
Chairman/CEO of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, revealed this on Friday in response to an inquirer on Twitter.
She said the passengers brought into the country in a British Airways aircraft would be quarantined for 14 days in Abuja.
“First evacuation from the UK has landed Lagos. The passengers will be proceeding to Abuja where they will be on 14 day compulsory isolation,” Mrs Dabiri-Erewa wrote.
The Federal Government on Thursday successfully evacuated the first batch of Nigerians stuck abroad amid the coronavirus pandemic.
A total of 256 Nigerians arrived in Lagos from Dubai on an Emirates Airline flight despite the delay caused by a woman who gave birth soon after take-off.
