Oyo State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Kehinde Ayoola, has died at age 55.
The former Speaker of Oyo House of Assembly is said to have died at a private hospital around Iyaganku, Ibadan where he was receiving treatment since falling ill about a fortnight ago.
Taiwo Adisa, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Seyi Makinde, confirmed his death on Thursday to reporters.
Mr Ayoola represented Oyo East state constituency between 1999 and 2003.
Ayoola was the speaker of the house in 1999 during the tenure of ex-governor Lam Adesina.
