The Federal Government has evacuated 292 Nigerians from Saudi Arabia over the hardship caused by coronavirus-induced lockdown around the world.
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, tweeted on Wednesday saying the flight conveying the evacuees arrived on Tuesday night at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
“…A large number are nursing mothers and children and they are all comfortably settled in hotels under the mandatory 14 days quarantine,” he wrote.
As of Tuesday, Nigeria had successfully evacuated its citizens from the United Arab Emirates (265); United Kingdom (253) and the United States (160) due to COVID-19.
