Singer, Tiwa Savage, has responded to a comment made by a critic who implied that her music is for prostitutes.
On Monday, the 40-year-old responded to comment made a Twitter user with username, @itz_thoyyin, had tweeted, “Duduke is for people in good and healthy relationship. Ashewo relax, Tiwa Savage will soon sing your own.”
Another user with username, @Faithisia_blunt, then defended Tiwa.
She wrote, “How is this funny. How can you put tiwa savage, a hard working woman and ashawo in the same sentence? This is so disrespectful.”
Tiwa replied, “I swear the tin weak me and this thread is mainly from women. God I know you see all, I remain within your arms of protection and blessings.”
The mother-of-one also joked that maybe she would have been better of in the United States of America where other singers like Beyonce and Rihanna are fiercely defended by their fans.
“It’s always been like that, I doubt it will ever change. Maybe I for just jeje dey yankee dey sing my rnb because I see how hard the Rihanna navy, beehives, barbs protect their own,” she added.
When she appeared on the TV show, Rubbin’ Minds, in July 2013, Tiwa said she is not threatened by other female singers and only competes with the men.
“In my head the people I compete against are the male artistes. That for me I look at the bigger picture, fortunately,” she said.
