The remains of Patrick Osimhen, father of Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen, was on Tuesday laid to rest in Lagos.
Mr Osimhen was buried according to Christian rites at a private cemetery, Omega Memorial Garden, in Ojodu area of Lagos.
Tweeting after the interment, the Lille striker thanked the public for standing by them throughout the difficult time.
“The family (Osimhen) would like to take this opportunity to express our sincerest appreciation for the thoughtfulness presented to us and love we have been given during our time of bereavement,” he wrote.
Osimhen died on May 23 after a brief illness.
He was buried in adherence to the social and physical distancing rules by the Lagos State Government.
