Nollywood actresses, Joke Silva, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, Bukky Wright, and other celebrities, have paid tribute to comedian, Ali Baba, as he turns 55.
They all shared their goodwill messages on Instagram on Wednesday.
Joke praised him as a patriot who always speaks the truth, no matter what.
“Today I celebrate this brother of mine.@alibabagcfr A patriot. Speaks truth to power… speaks truth to non-power…Happy birthday, Ali. May the fire keep burning,” she captioned her post.
Omotola reflected on her relationship with the celebrant, from his wedding to her 40th birthday celebration, writing, “Happy birthday to a man I respect so much @alibabagcfr. We have been friends for so long as I stop to take stock, am in shock. I was at your wedding, you were at my 2nd album launch, you were also at #Omotola4point0 as I turned 40 and last year…”
While Bukky simply wished him long life and prosperity, captioning her post, “Happy birthday to you @alibabagcfr I wish you long life and prosperity as you age gracefully.”
Other celebrities who paid tribute to the Delta-native include fellow comedians, Okey Bakassi, I Go Dye and Real Warri Pikin.
Basketmouth, thanked him Ali Baba for giving him his complimentary card 21 years ago.
“Thank you for giving me your complimentary card 21 yrs ago,” he wrote.
While I Go wrote, “Hbd to d #legend @alibabagcfr may God continually bless you.”
And Real Warri Pikin hailed him for supporting other comedians in the industry
She wrote, “We Celebrate the Okidiabara of Comedy. The Ajereseh of the world. You use your Iron back wage many people. For d industry. Legend.”
Another comedian, AY Makun, who used to work as Ali Baba’s personal assistant, had earlier thanked him for mentoring and helping him to achieve success.
“When you asked me to join you in Lagos, I was fresh out of Delta State University. You saw something in me that I didn’t even realise would make me become the man that I am today. I grew and developed due to your brilliant leadership.
“I owe all of my success and achievements to you. You are my mentor and father in the comedy industry, ” he wrote in his birthday tribute to the father-of-three.
