A former governor of Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosun, has commiserated with the family of late former governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi.

The former governor died on Thursday in a Lagos hospital at the age of 70.

In a Friday letter addressed to the wife of the deceased, Florence Ajimobi, the former Ogun governor described the deceased as a skilled and educated professional who had a successful career in the private sector.

He also described him as a “good friend and brother who will be remembered for his hard work, sense of humour and diligence in the service of humanity.”

“Senator Ajimobi distinguished himself in the service of Oyo State where he made history as the first to be elected governor twice just as in the Senate where he served as a principal officer in the fifth Senate.

“He was a highly skilled and educated professional, who had a successful career in the private sector, culminating in his appointment as the Chief Executive of National Oil Corporation of Nigeria,” he added.

Amosun prayed God to grant the bereaved family the fortitude to bear the loss.
