A former General Manager of the Lagos State Infrastructure Maintenance and Regulatory Agency (LASIMRA), Jide Odekunle, has died from complications arising from coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Mr Odekunle was LASIMRA boss for four years and 11 months under former governor Akinwunmi Ambode.
The Bobagunwa of Egbaland died on Saturday while being treated at the Onikan Isolation Centre.
Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Babafemi Ojudu, confirmed this in a Facebook post.
Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Drainage, Joe Igbokwe, also wrote, “I am diminished once again as a mortal as my successor at LASIMRA, Jide Odekunle, dies of COVID-19 complications at the Onikan Isolation Centre in Lagos. May his soul rest in perfect peace.”
Odekunle, who studied Computer Science at the University of Ibadan, was before his appointment at LASMIRA, sales director at Ceragon Networks and also chief marketing officer at Nera Microwave.
