Ghanaian actress, Jackie Appiah, who turned 32 on December 5, celebrated with children from two orphanages in her home country.
Continuing her yearly trend of giving to the less privileged, the screen diva revealed through an Instagram post on Monday that she did the same this year.
“This year, like all previous ones, I chose to celebrate my birthday with the less privilege in society instead of having a private party in the comfort of my home,” she wrote.
Jackie also added that she decided to bring together two orphanages , Osu Children’s home and Teshie Children’s home, for the celebration.
“This year, my management team and I decided to bring together over 60 kids from the Teshie and Osu orphanages to a kids play house at airport residential area to celebrate my birthday with them.”
The 2010 Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMMA) Best Actress in a Leading Role also invited children of family and friends to join in the celebration.
On behalf of the Jackie Appiah Foundation, the Ghanaian star presented the children with items including books, school bags, bags of rice, drinks, toiletries and cash.
The children from the orphanages enjoyed the day with the actress playing balloons, bouncers, slides and swings at the Ghana Disney land(Kids Cottage) in Djorwulu .
According to reports, Jackie will officially launch the Jackie Appiah Foundation very soon.
