Imo State First Lady Chioma Uzodimma has met the 9-year-old boy Joseph Opara who was adopted as son by Governor Hope Uzodimma in June after videos of him entertaining potential customers with Christian songs went viral.
Opara whose middle name is Oluomachi was seen in viral videos hawking coconut and singing to the amazement of the public.
Mrs Uzodimma had her first mother-son meetup with the boy on Sunday alongside his biological father Barthram Opara.
“When my husband announced the adoption of Oluomachi as a member of our family, I knew it was a fresh task for me as his foster mother,” she tweeted.
“I look forward to enjoying every bit of this experience, as a mother myself. Oluoma and I had our first mother-son meetup today in the company of his birth dad Mr. Barthram
“It was indeed a delight, coupled with the certainty and boldness with which he expressed his dreams. I am proud of my son, Oluomachi.”
The governor had promised to “sponsor him from primary school level (his current educational level) to Catholic priesthood (his career choice).”
Former aviation ministers Stella Oduah and Femi Fani-Kayode also reached out to the boy.
Mr Fani-Kayode donated N250,000 to the family while Mrs Oduah said the boy would receive free classes at her music school.
