Singer Simi has revealed that the song ‘Duduke’ was personal to her and that she had no idea it would be received with wide acceptance from fans.
The 31-year-old in an Instagram post on Thursday made the revelation.
According to the mother of one, she has not made up her mind to document her personal experience as a working pregnant woman on social media.
“Making this song was special for me, because it was personal, but I honestly had no idea it would be as huge as it is. I didn’t know it would resonate with so many people,” she wrote.
On April 19, Simi and her husband Adekunle Gold announced they were expecting their first child together.
Simi revealed her baby bump in the video for ‘Duduke’ which was released on the same day. Their baby Adejare was born in June.
In May, Simi explained the meaning of Duduke on Instagram as the beat the heart dances to, adding that the song celebrates women and expectant mothers.
