The Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) Oyo State chapter has directed its members not to attend the press conference scheduled for Monday by former minister of aviation Femi Fani-Kayode.
Oyo NUJ chairman Demola Babalola made the announcement during an appearance on Fresh 105.9 FM.
Mr Fani-Kayode had arrived Ibadan, Oyo State capital on Sunday following his tour to the South-South region.
He had called for a press conference at Chalton Gate Hotel, Ibadan.
The move by the union comes after the ex-minister verbally assaulted a Daily Trust journalist Charles Eyo in Cross River who asked if there was someone bankrolling his tour of the country.
Akwa Ibom chapter of NUJ had also boycotted his press conference last week.
Fani-Kayode had initially insisted he was right to have acted in that manner. He has now apologised severally for his comments.
