Kwara State First Lady Olufolake Abdulrazaq has handed over an apartment to the blue-eyed woman Risikat Azeez and her husband Abdulwasiu Omodada.
The first lady’s press secretary Yinka Adeniyi said on Monday that Mrs Abdulrazaq, through her non-governmental organisation Ajike Support Group, secured a two-bedroom apartment for the couple within the Ilorin metropolis.
Risikat and her husband got married during a Nikkah ceremony held in Ilorin last weekend.
According to Mr Adeniyi, the key to the rented apartment was handed over to the couple last Friday.
“We wanted to secure a shop for the lady to sell patent medicine, but when we went to pay for both the shop and the apartment, we were told that somebody else had paid for the shop and we only paid for the apartment and asked the couple to look for another shop.
“Thereafter, the Ajike Support Group will obtain a licence for the lady to operate a patent medicine store and stock the shop for her,” he told PUNCH.
The couple’s wedding was sponsored by the Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association.
Emir of Ilorin Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari was represented at the wedding by the Sarkin Kakakin of Ilorin Abdulwasiu Gafar.
He advised the couple to live in peace and be tolerant of each other in order to have a stable home.
