Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma on Tuesday concluded his first August meeting celebration as governor for his wife.
Minister of Information and Culture Lai Mohammed, Minister of State for Education Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba and chairman House Commitee on Information, National Orientation, Ethics and Values, Segun Olubunmi were among guests present.
Wife of the governor Chioma Uzodimma said on Twitter on Wednesday that the grand finale ended colourfully.
She wrote: “I am still in awe that despite our plan to make it a low-key celebration by inviting few women groups, in adherence to the @NCDCgov preventive protocols against the spread of the #COVID19 disease, a large turnout was still witnessed.
“The different women groups showed up in their colours and beauties of their appearances, with their strength as showcased in a formal march past and salutations. The cultural, art and food exhibitions, dance groups, I thank you all for a such a wonderful show.”
Mrs Uzodimma also thanked the deputy governor of Imo State and other members of the state executive committee, state lawmakers and their spouses for their presence and support.
August meeting is an annual congress held by the Igbo women whereby those in diaspora and the cities travel back to their matrimonial villages to meet with their local counterpart to discuss matters pertaining to community development, conflict management, human development and other socio-economic and cultural initiatives.
