Precious Chikwendu the estranged wife of former minister of aviation Femi Fani-Kayode underwent a surgical operation in July.
The couple were still together at the time. The illness was not disclosed.
A family source told Premium Times that health issues which Chikwendu developed shortly after they got married in 2014 formed part of the reasons why the marriage collapsed.
