Former minister of aviation Femi Fani-Kayode has denied plans of getting married again after the crash of his marriage to ex-beauty queen Precious Chikwendu.
Mr Fani-Kayode had earlier on Monday shared on Instagram a photo of a woman named Halima Yusuf. It was the second time they were meeting in days.
In a follow-up post, the 59-year-old said Halima was not his fiancée but is only offering him comfort at this time.
“There have been wild speculations in the social media that I am planning to get married again. This is false,” he wrote.
“Miss Halima Yusuf, who has been cited as my fiancée, is simply a dear friend and confidante who I have the utmost respect for and who I hold in high esteem.
“She, together with others, has been a source of immense comfort for me and mine at this time and for this I am eternally grateful to her.
“I appeal to all those peddling the falsehood that we are about to get married to please desist from doing so.”
Fani-Kayode has been hosting female friends since news of trouble in his marriage to Chikwendu broke.
Last Friday, his friend Elizabeth Akinmuda flew into the country from Glasgow, Scotland to see him.
Neither Fani-Kayode nor Chikwendu has spoken publicly about the cracks in their marriage.
The former minister has, however, debunked rumour their marriage crashed due to domestic violence.
