Self-styled investigative journalist Kemi Olunloyo has denied her Twitter account was suspended.
Before 11:30 am on Tuesday, the 56-year-old was down to zero Twitter followers despite previously boasting of over 200,000.
Ms Olunoloyo said she only deactivated her account, although admitted her account had been reported more than 5,000 times.
“@TwitterSupport DIDN’T suspend my acct. I haven’t broken Twitter rules,” she wrote.
“How can a country full of lies hate 1 person? You reported me over 5000 times and they send me critical ones. List of criminal youth elements, shut down SM during uprising are example. I’m a JOURNALIST.”
Olunloyo claims to have worked for CNN but the subject remains in contention.
She told her critics in another tweet: “Nigerians don’t know how to use Twitter. When you DEACTIVATE your account, you can reactivate back in 30 days to a year. When you do, it starts with ZERO followers and counts back to where it was. In my case 297K as 6000 unfollowed. I don’t count you. You NEED me.”
