With egg on their face, organisers of the Butterscotch Evenings earlier in the week announced the postponement of the 2015 edition scheduled to hold in Lagos on December 23.
The announcement was a big blow to fans of American R&B sensation, Brian Mcknight, who would have shared the same stage with Nigeria’s own Omawumi, Styl Plus, Seyi Shay, Paul Play Dairo and Lara.
Gone too was the promised fine dining, fashion, comedy and dance.
Gutted, the organisers said in a release, “Butterscotch Evenings has successfully acquired a reputation for delivering the very best of entertainment; never in time past has it failed to deliver the promised performing entertainers to its guests.
“For the first time we regret to inform you that one of our acts; Brian McKnight will be unable to attend this evening’s event”
According to the event publicist, Bobby Taylor, the man responsible for the botched concert is founder of Interglobe Entertainment, Bunmi Jinadu.
“This unfortunate incidence is as a result of negligence on the part of our booking agent Mr. Bunmi Jinadu, CEO of Interglobe Entertainment through whom all financial transactions regarding Brian McKnight were made.
“As a result of this, we will like to announce a postponement of this edition of Butterscotch Evenings, which was scheduled to take place today, 23rd December 2015, as it is our goal to give our guests all that has been promised. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause,” the organisers said.
This is not the first time Mr Jinadu is being blamed for a failed concert.
Efe Omorogbe of Now Muzik knocked him back in 2012 over the cancellation of the United Sounds of Africa tour scheduled for Toronto, Chicago and Los Angeles.
2face Idibia, Timi Dakolo, J Martins, Ice Prince, Jesse Jagz and BrymO were announced as performers in a series of concert organised in conjunction with Chocolate City and Hypertek Entertainment.
Jinadu, 43, is involved in everything from sport to entertainment. His Interglobe has worked with America singer Lauryn Hill, Nigeria’s Iyanya, National U 23 football coach Samson Siasia and MTN.
Born in Nigeria and schooled at Prior Park Prep School in England, Jinadu had an opportunity to see many parts of the world at a young age.
His Interglobe boasts to be one of America’s leading boutique media and entertainment companies.

One of Jinadu’s mottos is “I refuse to give up”.
Interglobe Entertainment had not replied to an email from Qed.ng seeking explanation about the cancelled Brian McKnight concert as at the time of filing this report.
