Nigerians have reacted on social media with disappointment over the blackout in the country.
Eko Electricity Distribution Company said in a tweet on Friday night that the blackout was caused by a partial collapse on the National Grid.
“Dear customer, there is a partial system collapse on the National Grid that’s causing outages across our network. We are working with our TCN partners to restore supply as soon as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience,” the company said.
Nigerians have, however, taken to Twitter to express their angst, addressing electricity distribution companies by the defunct National Electric Power Authority (NEPA).
