A former governor of Delta State James Ibori has congratulated businessman and philanthropist Tony Elumelu on receiving a national honour from the Kingdom of Belgium.
Mr Elumelu an indigene of Delta had disclosed on Monday via social media that he got the honour on Sunday night.
Reacting on Twitter, Mr Ibori said: “Congratulations Tony. You are indeed our worthy Ambassador.”
Elumelu was conferred with the honorary distinction of Officer in the Order of Leopold which he described as Belgium’s oldest and most important national honour.
The business mogul said he was humbled by the recognition of his foundation’s work in empowering entrepreneurs in Africa.
