Senator Elisha Abbo on Monday hailed the pioneer chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Nuhu Ribadu on his 60th birthday.
In a statement, Abbo described Ribadu as a detribalised Nigerian.
He said: “You live an honest and simple life that which you committed in the hands of God Almighty, you are one of the most connected and respected Nigerians alive. Nigeria is lucky to have you.
“Congratulations once more, wishing you more years of sacrifice and prosperity.”
The Adamawa-North lawmaker added: “In 2010, I resigned my appointment as Special Adviser to the governor of Adamawa to join your team as a volunteer.
“Eventually, I became your Personal Assistant, then Special Assistant and much more – Personal Confidant.”
Abbo was caught on CCTV assaulting Warmate at a sex toy shop in Wuse 2, Abuja in 2019.
The senator was ordered by Justice Samira Bature of the FCT High Court in a civil suit filed by the victim to pay N50million and publish an apology to her. This came after Abbo won the criminal case instituted against him by the police before a Chief Magistrate Court in Zuba.
He filed an appeal against the judgment in October.
