Ace cinematographer Tunde Kelani is seeking an old model Toyota Coaster or Nissan Civilian bus for his movie on late apala music maestro Ayinla Omowura.
The multiple award-winning filmmaker stated this in a social media post on Saturday.
“Making of AYINLA our special movie is happening BIG at Abẹ́òkúta. We need either the old Coaster or Civilian bus for the Ayinla Band. Kindly assist and support us,” the 72-year-old wrote.
Kelani’s latest project is coming 40 years after Ayinla was fatally stabbed with a glass cup during an argument in a pub on May 6, 1980, in Ago Ika, Abeokuta.
Questions Kelani seeks to answer with the biopic are “Who is Ayinla Omowura? Why is his music still relevant after his tragic death 40 years ago? And what is the root that nurtured his craft and music?”
Among those starring in the movie are Adedimeji Lateef, Bimbo Manuel, Ade Laoye, Kunle Afolayan and Omowunmi Dada.
