Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has ordered the closure of schools in the state by Wednesday.
A statement from the government on Tuesday said the directive was part of efforts to contain the rise in COVID-19 infections in the state.
“As part of efforts to contain the surge in Covid-19 infections in the state, all schools have been directed to close by Wednesday, 16 December 2020,” the governor tweeted.
El-Rufai himself is in isolation after some members of his family tested positive for COVID-19.
The governor had in March contracted the disease but recovered after weeks.
