Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) Abike Dabiri-Erewa has met representatives of the record labels which singers Omah Lay and Tems are signed on to.
The duo are being held in Uganda for participating in a concert which flouted COVID-19 rules.
Mrs Dabiri-Erewa met the representatives simply identified as Marshall and Valentine on Tuesday, assuring that the singers would be released by Ugandan authorities soon.
“I received Marshall and Valentine, working with @Omah_Lay and Tem’s record label. The good news is that they will soon be back,” she wrote.
The NIDCOM boss waded into the matter on Monday after police in Uganda charged the singers to court.
The court remanded them till Wednesday.
