Ondo State Commissioner for Regional Integration Prof Bayonle Ademodi has died at age 68, the state government has announced.
Commissioner for Information and Orientation Donald Ojogo, in a statement, said Ademodi died on Saturday after a protracted illness.
“It was received with great shock and disbelief,” he said.
It was gathered that the chemical engineer recently travelled abroad for medical attention and was away from the state for over two months.
Former caretaker chairman of Ondo East Local Government Wale Akinlosotu described Ademodi as a great leader and bridge-builder that was loved by many.
He said Ademodi’s death was “a great loss to the All Progressives Congress, APC, family in Ondo State.”
Ademodi was appointed a commissioner by Governor Rotimi Akeredolu in September 2017.
