Manchester United forward Odion Ighalo on Monday marked the third anniversary of his charity project Ighalo Orphanage Home.
In an Instagram post, the Nigeria international expreseed gratitude to God, the orphanage’s board of trustees, staff, donors and volunteers.
He wrote: “My heartfelt gratitude goes to almighty God without whom we can do nothing. For making it possible for us all to see this day in good health and sound mind. Also it’s a thing of immense joy for us to celebrate the 3rd Anniversary of this great project God himself placed in my heart. I’m grateful to God for how far he has brought us @ighalo_orphanage_home and where He is still taking us to. We are thankful.”
The orphanage based in Ijegun, Lagos caters for and shelters children from 0 to18 years.
According to the orphanage’s website, Ighalo said he established the orphanage because life was tough for him growing up in Ajegunle, a suburb of Lagos, and that he “vowed that if I eventually had a breakthrough, I’ll give back to the society.”
