Chairman of Ovation Media Group Dele Momodu has urged presidential spokesman Garba Shehu to accept the challenge by former presidential aide Remo Omokri for a night in Borno without security to prove President Muhammadu Buhari has made Nigeria safer.
Mr Shehu had rejected the challenge, saying he would not accept the $20,000 on offer if the money was part of donations for the rescue of Leah Sharibu a female student of Government Girls Science and Technical Secondary School, Dapchi, kidnapped by Boko Haram on February 19, 2018.
But Mr Momodu lent his voice to the issue, urging Shehu to take up the challenge to prove Mr Omokri wrong.
“As your umpire, I suggest our Brother @GarShehu takes up the challenge gratis as an avowed disciple of @MBuhari and call the bluff of @renoomokri and I will declare the winner asap,” wrote the publisher of Ovation Magazine.
Momodu had earlier accepted to be the umpire without charge.
“I have received a call from @renoomokri and I have accepted to be the umpire free of charge,” he wrote.
Omokri says he would give Shehu $20,000 if the latter would spend a night in Koshebe, Borno State or Kware in Sokoto State without security.
