The decision was reached at a meeting the Minister of Education, Ibrahim Shekarau, held with State Commissioners of Education in Abuja on Tuesday.
The Minister warned that any private school that fails to comply will be duly sanctioned by its supervising State Ministry of Education.
Mr Shekarau said that the government will go to any length to ensure that schools comply with the directive.
He added all the State Ministries of Education are to immediately organise and ensure that at least two staff in each school – both public and private – are trained on how to handle any suspected Ebola case.
Shekarau said the training should be concluded by September 15.
He promised that he would meet with all State Commissioners of Education on September 23 to appraise the situation.
