The man in the eye of the storm is Kehinde Lateef Lawal.
QED gathered that Lawal, often referred to as Malu, is accused of impersonating his former boss before Kwara State Government officials.
There had been similar allegations against Malu in the past but things got to a head when some close aides of Kwara State Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed, reportedly reached out to the musician’s camp to book him for a date in Ilorin.
One of the governor’s aides was given the mandate to contact Osupa him for the event. He called a number given to him, but unknown to him, he was speaking to Malu, who, sources said, pretended he was the musician.
Malu agreed to a proposed date then asked for N5000 to buy call credit so he could firm up the date with his booking manager.
Suspecting foul play, another aide of the governor, with access to Osupa, was asked to confirm with the musician if he was indeed the one they spoke to.
This time around, they reached Balogun Ganiu, also known as Baloo, who handles date and fees for the musician.
It was soon discovered that Malu was indeed the one who spoke and acted as if he was Osupa himself.
With a history of similar misdemeanour in the past, the fuji act was left with no other option than to kick Lawal out of his team.
