Pop diva, Seyi Shay has launched an Instagram singing competition to promote her debut album, Seyi or Shay, which was released in 2015.
It follows in the tradition of D’banj’s ‘The King is Here’ rap competition.
Tagged ‘Seyi or Shay Instagram Karaoke’, the contest requires fans of the singer to post 15 seconds videos of themselves singing the chorus of their favourite song off the album using the hashtags #SeyiorShay, #SeyiorShayInstagramKaraoke and mentioning the singer’s Instagram handle @iamseyishay.
After the entries have been collated, 20 videos will be selected to battle it out for likes on Instagram. The video with the most likes wins an iPad, while the first and second runners up win Android phones.
Winners will be announced on January 26, 2016.
The 30-year-old, however warned that buying or generating likes will get participants disqualified. She also added that fans are not allowed to sing chorus of the hit singles, ‘Right Now’, ‘Murda’, ‘Jangilova’ and ‘Crazy’.
D’banj did the same thing in 2015 with the winners offered the opportunity to feature on the remix of his song ‘The King is Here’.
