Fares Boulos, the rapper and actor known as Oyibo Rebel, is the brother of Michael Boulos, fiancé of Tiffany Trump, daughter of immediate past US President Donald Trump.
Tiffany (27) marked her father’s last day in the White House on Tuesday, January 19 by announcing her engagement to 23-year-old Michael.
Trump’s future son-in-law is a businessman of Lebanese and French descent, with strong ties to Nigeria.
His father is tycoon Massad Boulos, who has a long business career in Nigeria, while his brother Fares (30), has made a niche for himself as a singer and actor.
There is a childhood photo on Michael’s Instagram showing him (with dummy) and brother Fares lounging in their father’s Rolls Royce.
Fares has no picture of his brother Michael on his Instagram page.
Born in Houston, Texas, Fares moved to Nigeria at the age of five and attended the exclusive American International School, Lagos along with his siblings.
He later studied liberal arts in Los Angeles, where he focused on theatre, and worked as an actor in London.
Fares also lays claim to a fleeting appearance in the second series of Netflix’s The Crown, playing the non-speaking part of film director Ken Russell.
As Oyibo Rebel, his Nigerian fans know him for his Instagram skits and songs like ‘Oju Mi Bloody’ featuring Mz Kiss and Chinko Ekun.
Fares called himself Farastafari before picking up the nickname Oyibo Rebel.
His mother Sarah Boulos, daughter of tycoon Zouhair Fadoul, founded the Society for the Performing Arts in Nigeria (SPAN).
According to Massad, Fares inherited his mother’s artistic bent, while Michael was always more likely to take the reins of the family business.
The family business empire in Nigeria includes SCOA Nigeria Plc and Boulos Enterprises Limited.
Unlike his brother who is based in the US, Fares lives in Nigeria and has no plans of relocating.
“Nigeria is my home. It is where I spent most of my childhood and most of my life. This is my base,” he once commented.
Tiffany is the only child of Trump’s second marriage to Marla Maples.
