Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus has demanded respect from her followers after Funke Akindele’s movie Omo Ghetto (The Saga) made a huge success in the cinemas.
The 43-year-old announced that their movie has made N502 million at the cinemas on Instagram on Tuesday.
She said her followers should put respect on her name.
“HIGHEST GROSSING NOLLYWOOD MOVIE OF ALL TIME #omoghettothesaga,” she wrote.
The movie which was released in cinemas on Christmas Day December 25, 2020 was the highest-grossing Nollywood movie of all time in January.
A statement by the Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria (CEAN) said the film has so far grossed N468,036,300 after holding the number one spot for three weeks in a row.
“Omo Ghetto has officially broken a four years record by knocking off Kemi Adetiba’s 2016 comedy movie The Wedding Party.
“The movie had been Nollywood highest grossing movie with N453,000,000,” the statement said.
Omo Ghetto (The Saga) made history when it became the first Nigerian movie to premiere in the United Arab Emirates on January 21.
The prequel Omo Ghetto was released in 2010 starring Funke Akindele, Rachel Oniga, Taiwo Hassan, Yinka Quadri, and Eniola Badmus.
The movie is based on societal vices by a women-dominated gang.
