Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu says there is no plan to launch a community online like Facebook.
A tweet with the handle as the IPOB leader claimed on Wednesday that the group was planning to name its online community IPOBook.
The tweet urged IPOB members to “donate at least N500 each to shame Mark Zuckerberg.”
Mr Zuckerberg is the founder and chief executive officer of Facebook.
It also urged well-wishers from Nigeria to donate N200.
However, Mr Kanu accused the Department of State Services of creating fake accounts to spread false information.
“This tweet is FAKE! It emanated from one of the numerous parody accounts Nigeria’s Secret Police (DSS) created with my name to disseminate fake information and confuse the public,” he said.
Kanu knocked Twitter for refusing to put a verification badge on his handle.
“They are encouraged to do this by the refusal of Twitter to verify this handle, my official account,” he added.
