The celebrity special marshals of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Lagos Unit will on Saturday, February 6 hold their first enlightenment patrol programme for the year.
The unit made up of celebrities and personalities in the media and entertainment industries will take off from the National Stadium, Surulere at 7am.
Nollywood actor Segun Arinze who is the Lagos unit coordinator said the programme would involve traffic management, enlightenment of motorists on road signs, and COVID-19 awareness.
The unit has membership drawn from the media and creative industry. Such members include CEO of FAD Media Group, owners of FAD FM and FAD 360TV, Fidelis Duker; editor, Ovation International, Michael Effiong; managing director, Megalectriks, Chris Ubosi; publisher, CKN News, Chris Nwandu; publisher, Yes Magazine, Azuh Arinze; Keke Ogungbe and Dayo Adeneye of Primetime Africa; publisher, The Scroll, Janet Mba-Afolabi; publisher, Qed.ng, Olumide Iyanda; publisher, Daylight, Azuh Amatus; Nneota Egbe of Channels Television and DJ Jimmy Jatt.
Comedians Ali Baba, Okey Bakassi, Gbenga Adeyinka, Yaw and Koffi as well as broadcasters Yemi Shodimu, OSAM, Chico and Joseph Faulkner are also members.
Entertainment personalities like Jide Alabi, Sonny Mcdon W, Ann Njemanze, Abubakar Haruna, Mr Raw and Jaywon are some of the other members of the unit.
The traffic management awareness programme is a quarterly event held to sensitise motorists and commuters on road safety tips.
