The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has led in tributes for the former Super Eagles defender Yisa Sofoluwe who died on Tuesday at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital.
The 53-year-old suffered a brain disease known as mild cerebral atrophy.
In a tweet on Wednesday, the NFF said: “We are devastated to hear of the passing away of former Green Eagles Defender Yisa Sofoluwe after a brief illness on Tuesday. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and football community in Nigeria. May his soul Rest In Peace.”
