A former presidential spokesman Doyin Okupe has revealed he was privy to a private conversation where former British Prime Minister David Cameron fondly called the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God Pastor Enoch Adeboye ‘Daddy G.O.’.
Mr Okupe stated this in a Twitter thread on Thursday in celebration of the 40th anniversary of Adeboye as head of the RCCG.
“Today the Redeemed Christian church has perhaps the largest auditorium in the world with capacity to sit 1million congregation,” Okupe said.
“Pastor Adeboye, perhaps one of the humblest pastors in the world inherited only 39 branches from the founder Pastor Fadayomi in 1981.
“Pastor Adeboye is renowned globally. Some few years ago he was featured in @TIME as one of the 100 most influential persons in the world.
“I was privy to a private conversation where former British #PM, David Cameron, called pastor Adeboye, ‘Daddy G.O.’, as a matter of fact.”
Cameron met Adeboye in April 2015 at the Festival of Life programme held in London.
At the meeting, Adeboye prayed for Cameron who was preparing to lead the Conservative Party in the UK general elections.
