Imo State Police Command has arrested the suspected kidnappers of the auxiliary bishop of Owerri Catholic archdiocese Moses Chikwe.
It was gathered on Tuesday that the suspects were arrested in operations that spanned through Imo and Anambra.
“We have arrested the kidnappers who abducted the auxiliary bishop of Owerri Catholic archdiocese, Moses Chikwe. They were arrested by the crack teams of the Command in the different operations between Imo and Anambra States,” a source told PUNCH.
Imo police spokesperson Orlando Ikeokwu told the newspaper that the suspects would be paraded by the commissioner of police Narisu Muhammed later in the day.
The bishop was taken hostage last December alongside his driver at the World Bank area of Owerri. They regained their freedom in January.
