Minister of state for labour and employment Festus Keyamo on Tuesday paid a condolence visit to Rickey Tarfa & Co. law firm over the death of its partner and head of chambers John Odubela (SAN).
Mr Odubela, 55, died in the late hours of Monday following a brief illness.
The law firm announced the death on Tuesday in a statement issued by its partner and deputy head of chambers Olusegun Jolaawo (SAN).
Mr Keyamo revealed in a tweet that he took silk on the same day with the deceased.
He said: “Earlier today, I paid a condolence visit to my learned colleagues in Rickey Tarfa and CO, Abuja, where we lost my brother silk, Mr. John Segun Odubela (we took silk on the same day) to the cruel & cold hands of death.”
The minister prayed that God would comfort Odubela’s colleagues and members of his family.
Odubela, a native of Ikenne in Remo, Ogun State, was a former Ogun State commissioner for education, science and technology between 2011 and 2015 during the Amosun administration.
Born on May 5, 1965, he studied Law at the Ogun State University, Ago-Iwoye, now Olabisi Onabanjo University; graduated in 1989, attended the law school and was called to bar in 1990. Odubela obtained a masters of Law degree from the University of Lagos in 1995.
